Highway-in-the-Sky (HITS)

The Highway-In-The-Sky (HITS) technology of the FlightLogic system makes creating and flying a flight plan almost child's play. With a minimum of menu navigation and a few turns of a single button, you quickly program a safe, sure, efficient course to any destination. And instrument approaches become so much easier, you will never want to return to the "good old days" of mechanical instrument flight. How does it work?

Tapping topographical databases, the FlightLogic HITS technology plots a 3D "tunnel" along your desired route of flight. The skyway appears as a series of green boxes superimposed over the 3D Synthetic Vision in the Primary Flight Display (PFD). Simply by guiding your aircraft through the boxes on the PFD, you are able to follow your flight plan through all waypoints…easily, safely, and accurately…to your destination.

On approach, the green HITS glide slope boxes guide you unerringly through your descent. As you approach the threshold, the depiction of the runway grows larger and corresponds to your view out the window. Weather and darkness melt away. And you command your aircraft with the calm and confidence that comes from complete situational awareness.

Flying the Highway In The Sky (HITS) skyway is as easy as steering a car down the road (after all, you don't rely on instruments to keep your car safely in its lane). With HITS, you simply fly the flight path marker through the HITS boxes—wind is accounted for automatically. Most pilots master the HITS skyway in less than 15 minutes.
