In addition to large terrain features, the Synthetic Vision of the Sierra system also depicts towers, structures and other man-made obstacles.

In the example at left, notice how accurately the individual buildings are represented—shown as pillars in the 3D image on the Primary Flight Display (PFD)—corresponding precisely to the actual Chicago skyline. The position and pitch of the horizon are also depicted with remarkable accuracy.
